The Shoreline of the Pacific Ocean/Hermosa Beach, California---I did it. I began on April 14 starting with my vehicle on the drivable beach of Daytona Beach, Florida to standing on the beach of Hermosa Beach.
It has been an amazing journey and it's hard to believe I am not at the half way point yet. I've been gone for 47 days and it feels like hundreds.
For now I will take a couple days to relax and enjoy the beaches between Manhattan Beach and Hermosa. Then make my way North through California before heading East through the upper United States.
But I have an enormous feeling of relief and accomplishment just to be looking at the Pacific Ocean, something I have not seen since sailing from the Panama Canal to the Galapagos Islands. The cold water of the Pacific reminds me I am definitely far away from home. But then again, for the past several years, home is just where I am at the moment.
